DUBAI, February 27, 2026 (WAM) -- The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) organized an "Innovation Laboratory for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" under the theme "Towards an Inclusive Work Environment... Driving Diversity Excellence." The laboratory was conducted with the participation of GDRFA employees and personnel from various Dubai government entities, as part of efforts to advance the human capital ecosystem and prepare for the future. The laboratory aims to integrate the concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) throughout the talent management lifecycle through a structured framework that promotes fairness in access to opportunities and enhances the efficiency of human capital. In this context, GDRFA Dubai's Assistant Director General for Human Resources and Financial Sector, Major General Awad Mohammed Al Humairi, emphasized that GDRFA Dubai continues to be guided by the directives of smart leadership in building a government work environment based on equality and equal opportunities. He stated that the organization is committed to embracing the principles of diversity, inclusion, and meritocracy, ensuring that talents actively contribute to the development and leadership of government work, thereby creating an inclusive work environment that strengthens corporate efficiency and sustainability while adapting to future requirements. He added that aligning DEI concepts with the talent management framework serves as a fundamental pillar in enhancing the quality of recruitment, development, and retention decisions, as well as elevating the preparedness of government entities. This aligns with the vision of Dubai's Prime Minister and Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to create government work environments based on the foundations of justice, excellence, and sustainability. Under the oversight of executive leadership, GDRFA Dubai's Assistant Director General for Leadership and Future Affairs, Colonel Abdul Samad Hussein Suleiman Al Blooshi, participated in the sessions and reviewed their progress and outcomes. He instructed for further examination of the proposed solutions and recommendations, assessing their feasibility; this was preparatory for the adoption of appropriate initiatives within action plans that strengthen GDRFA Dubai's corporate leadership journey. During the sessions, participants explored five key pillars for future preparedness in the context of corporate awareness, governance, impact measurement, fair empowerment, and digital transformation. Additionally, five major challenges were identified, addressed using internationally recognized innovative tools, paving the way for actionable initiatives that support the development of a more inclusive and sustainable work environment and enhance Dubai's leadership in government performance.
