ABU DHABI, 1st October, 2026 (WAM) -- Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), Global Food Week returns for its largest edition from October 6 to 8, 2026, at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, organised by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with ADAFSA. The event will bring together 2,580 exhibitors, buyers, investors and policymakers from 92 countries to Abu Dhabi across three days of exhibitions, panel discussions and matchmaking sessions.Running alongside the exhibition, the second edition of the Global Food Security Summit (GFSS) will convene countries, multilateral institutions and private-sector leaders to discuss solutions to challenges in food security, with this year's programme focused on moving food systems from resilience towards readiness for future disruptions. Speakers from 30 countries will participate in the summit, sharing insights on emerging challenges, innovative technologies, investment opportunities and policy frameworks that can strengthen global food systems and accelerate progress towards long-term food security.Ahmad Shaker, CEO of Capital 360 & Events, said: "Global Food Week continues to strengthen its position as a leading international platform for advancing food security, agricultural innovation and sustainable development. SHARJAH, 1st October, 2026 (WAM) -- Visitors to the 58th Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show at Expo Centre Sharjah are turning their attention to one of the exhibition's most striking displays - the world's tallest gold bar, which holds an official Guinness World Records title and is showcased by BTC.The gold bar measures 2.12 metres (6 feet 11.5 inches), making it the world's tallest gold bar, according to the official Guinness World Records certificate.Designed in the form of a golden ruler, the record-breaking piece combines its exceptional dimensions with a distinctive visual presentation, allowing visitors to engage directly with the display.The gold bar also offers visitors an interactive experience through the "Measure Your Height in Gold" concept. Registration opens for landmark 10th edition of Dubai Fitness Challenge

DUBAI, 1st October, 2026 (WAM) -- Registrations are now open for the 10th edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), which encourages residents and visitors across the city to commit to 30 minutes of daily exercise for 30 days. Running from 31 October to 29 November 2026, DFC aims to inspire one and all to discover a fitter self with its affable slogan 'What's Your 30x30?'. The initiative aims to build on the remarkable impact of its first nine editions as it celebrates a decade of making fitness goals more accessible across Dubai.Launched in 2017 by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the initiative has attracted more than 16 million participants across its nine editions. What began with a simple commitment to 30 minutes of physical activity for 30 days has grown into a citywide initiative, making it easier for residents and visitors to incorporate fitness pursuits and wellbeing into their everyday lives.The evolution of the initiative can be seen across the wider DFC programme. The flagship event Dubai Run grew from 70,000 runners in 2019 to more than 307,000 in 2025, while Dubai Ride welcomed over 40,000 cyclists in 2025 - more than double its participation from the inaugural edition in 2020. DFC has also expanded to include three free Fitness Villages and over 23 Community Fitness Hubs across the city, in addition to the four flagship events.In 2026, DFC encourages everyone to find their own answer to 'What's Your 30x30?' and to bring others along on the journey.
