ABU DHABI, March 1, 2026 (WAM) -- The Ministry of Defense announced today that special teams intervened in an incident involving an attack by two Iranian drones on a storage facility at the Al Salam naval base in Abu Dhabi. The incident resulted in a fire in two containers where general supplies were stored, with no casualties reported. The ministry strongly condemned the targeting of military objectives, describing it as a clear act of aggression and a blatant violation of national sovereignty as well as international law. The UAE emphasized its right to respond to this escalation and to take all necessary measures to protect its territory, people, and residents. The ministry stated that it aims to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability while protecting national interests and capabilities. It highlighted that it is fully prepared and ready to face any threats, having taken all necessary measures to firmly counter anything aimed at undermining the country's security and stability. Additionally, it noted that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors is a non-negotiable priority.
