200 athletes are competing in Muay Thai and kickboxing at the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Championship.
ABU DHABI, March 12, 2026 (WAM) -- The UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation has announced the participation of 200 male and female athletes in Muay Thai and kickboxing events as part of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ramadan Championship – Al Wathba 2026. The Federation stated that the competitions will continue until March 16, covering age groups ranging from eight years old to both youth and professional categories. This reflects the growing popularity of the sport and a strong foundation for combat sports in the UAE. It was noted that the championship commenced with matches in the 8-11 age category, and competitions are currently ongoing in the youth categories (ages 12-17). Semi-finals for the youth categories will take place tomorrow, followed by final matches on Sunday. The event will conclude with K-1 kickboxing competitions; official proceedings will begin on March 14, and matches will continue until March 16.
