DUBAI, March 13, 2026 (WAM) -- The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has renewed its humanitarian initiative "Goodness Bus" in collaboration with Beit Al Khair Society and Dubai Charity Association during the month of Ramadan, as part of its commitment to promote social solidarity and strengthen community responsibility values. This initiative aims to appreciate the vital role of the workforce in Dubai's development journey. Teams composed of GDRFA employees and volunteers distributed iftar meals across the emirate, particularly in the areas of Jebel Ali, Al Quoz, Dubai Investment Park (DIP), and Muhaisnah. So far this year, the initiative has distributed 135,000 iftar meals throughout Dubai in an effort to reach as many members of the workforce as possible, spreading happiness and reinforcing the values of solidarity and social integration. Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA and Chairman of the Permanent Labor Affairs Committee, emphasized that the initiative reflects the Directorate's commitment to supporting the workforce and recognizing their central roles in various sectors. He noted that the holy month of Ramadan offers a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the values of generosity and compassion within the community. Abideen Taher Al Awadhi, Director General of Beit Al Khair Society, stated, "The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs continuously supports our Ramadan campaigns through the renewed 'Goodness Bus' initiative, aimed at providing iftar meals to workers and passersby during the holy month. This initiative makes a valuable contribution to our annual 'Iftar Saem' project."
