Dubai's Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed announced on Monday, November 2, that developer Emaar is the recipient of the Dubai-it Award for excellence in the real estate sector.
The award recognises the company for adopting Dubai's philosophy of action across project development, delivery, management and service quality. Sheikh Hamdan said Emaar's achievements in a single year exceeded global benchmarks, adding that its major projects, high quality and rapid execution have made its destinations among the most visited in the world. He congratulated the Emaar team and Mohamed Alabbar.
Earlier recipients of the newly launched award include Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the 'red carpet' airport project.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the Dubai-it initiative on June 17. The annual award honours individuals, projects, companies and institutions, and runs from September to May. June, July and August are reserved for receiving and evaluating nominations for the following edition.
Winners are chosen against eight criteria, including the exceptional nature of the achievement, quality and speed of execution, tangible results, impact and sustainability.
