DUBAI, March 5, 2026 (WAM) -- The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced its support for the Noble Number charity auction organized by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MBRGI) at the Armani Hotel Dubai in Burj Khalifa on March 7. The proceeds from the auction will go towards the "Edge of Life" campaign, initiated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, aimed at saving five million children from hunger during Ramadan. The campaign seeks to raise at least 1 billion AED to combat child hunger worldwide. The Edge of Life campaign is being organized in collaboration with UNICEF, Save the Children, the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and the Hunger Relief Association. To support the campaign, the RTA has set aside nine special license plate numbers for auction at the Noble Number charity auction: DD 6, DD 16, DD 25, DD 30, DD 99, DD 100, DD999, DD 7000, and DD 22222. The auction will feature high-profile personalities, philanthropists, and business leaders who wish to support humanitarian causes and promote a culture of giving and generosity in the United Arab Emirates. The Edge of Life campaign operates under MBRGI, the largest foundation in the region for humanitarian aid, assistance, development, and social work. The campaign continues the momentum of previous Ramadan campaigns initiated under Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's directives and has garnered broad support from the UAE community. RTA Director General and Chairman of the Executive Directors Board, Mattar Al Tayer, stated that the campaign reflects Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision for establishing a sustainable approach to humanitarian action in the UAE. Al Tayer remarked, "It is an honor to allocate the proceeds from premium license plate numbers to the Edge of Life campaign to support this noble humanitarian initiative and help save five million children from hunger. This contributes to our mission of actively combating child hunger worldwide. Our support stems from our commitment to social responsibility and our belief that national institutions are active partners in the UAE's humanitarian mission." Al Tayer noted that the RTA has set aside nine special license plate numbers for this year's Noble Number auction and invited the public to participate and help achieve the campaign's goals. Charity auctions have played a significant role in promoting a culture of donations and social responsibility, with previous editions of the Noble Number receiving widespread interest. Last year's edition raised 83,677,000 AED to support the Fathers Foundation campaign launched during Ramadan 2025. The Edge of Life campaign continues to accept donations and contributions from institutions and individuals through seven main channels. Donations can be made via the campaign's website (www.edgeoflife.ae) and also through a toll-free call center (800 4999). Donations can also be made via bank transfer to the campaign's bank account at Emirates Islamic Bank in UAE dirhams (IBAN: AE940340003708472909222). Those wishing to donate via SMS can send the word "LIFE" to the following numbers (to donate AED10, send to 1034; to donate AED50, send to 1035; to donate AED100, send to 1036; and to donate AED500, send to 1038).
