The United Arab Emirates has issued a firm denial of any involvement in the civil war in Sudan, stating that it has not supplied arms or related material to any party since the conflict began in April 2023.

The denial was made in response to a report by the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission for the Sudan (FFM), with the UAE Mission to the United Nations in Geneva issuing a statement to set the record straight.

The statement was intended to counter any suggestion of involvement in the fighting, and underlined the country's stated commitment to bringing the war to an end.

Beyond the denial, the UAE has consistently positioned itself as an advocate for peace in Sudan, repeatedly calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire as well as an urgent humanitarian truce.
