ABU DHABI, March 9, 2026 (WAM) -- The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center (SZGMC) has completed its preparations to host worshippers during the last ten days of Ramadan. An enhanced preparation process is being implemented across all affiliated locations, including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah, and the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. The preparations include comprehensive services aimed at meeting the needs of all visitors and ensuring smooth access for worshippers to perform their daily prayers in peace and spiritual tranquility. In light of the expected increase in worshipper participation during these blessed days and nights, the center will organize Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers in its mosques to revive the spiritual rituals of the last ten days. The Tahajjud prayer will commence daily at midnight (12:00 AM) and will be conducted in a deeply spiritual atmosphere led by the mosque's distinguished imams: Idris Abkar, Yahya Aishan, Alaa Al Mizjaji, Abdullah Al Baloushi, and Abdulbasit Abdulsamad. Additionally, Quran reciter Raad Al Kurdi will also participate in the event. The center continues to broadcast prayers live every day on its official YouTube channel (@szgmc) and Instagram account (@szgmc_ae), and also collaborates with Abu Dhabi TV and Fujairah TV for television broadcasts. To facilitate access to the mosques, the center has allocated over 8,000 parking spaces at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, including 1,500 spaces designated for women and more than 60 spaces for Persons with Disabilities. Furthermore, additional parking areas are available near Wahat Al Karama, ADNEC, and Zayed Sports City, with shuttle buses operating to transport worshippers to the mosque for Tahajjud prayers during the last ten nights. A detailed informational video highlighting all parking areas and access gates according to official maps has been shared. The Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain has allocated 2,176 parking spaces for 28 Persons with Disabilities, while the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah offers over 2,000 parking spaces. To ensure smooth mobility, all mosques have opened various entrances for easy access and exit. The center has increased the number of mobile information points at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, doubled the number of call center staff providing 24/7 support, and provided approximately 1,500 prayer rugs for outdoor areas along with over 30,000 disposable prayer mats around the columns. To facilitate mobility within the mosque, the center has allocated more than 70 electric vehicles to assist worshippers, Persons with Disabilities, and the elderly from parking areas to prayer halls. Additionally, 3,515 comfortable seating areas and over 50 wheelchairs have been provided for the elderly and Persons with Disabilities. For the safety of children, the center supplies identification wristbands at all information points to assist them in communicating with their guardians when needed. On-site ambulances, a field hospital, and Civil Defense teams are also present to respond to emergencies. The center has provided all necessary facilities, such as wheelchairs, medical chairs, water, copies of the Quran, and disposable prayer mats, at all affiliated mosques. During the last ten days, visiting hours have been adjusted according to the Tahajjud prayer times: daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on Fridays from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah.
