The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) grants automatic recognition to diplomas from 38 universities based in the United Arab Emirates.
ABU DHABI, April 8, 2026 (WAM) -- The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) announced that five higher education institutions (HEIs) have joined the automatic diploma recognition initiative, bringing the total number to 38. This initiative allows students to have their diplomas recognized instantly and automatically through a real-time integrated electronic system, enabling them to continue their postgraduate education or enter the workforce without the need for additional recognition procedures. In this way, it strengthens graduates' preparations for the next stage of their academic or professional journeys. This step supports the Ministry's Zero Government Bureaucracy goal by streamlining procedures, enhancing service efficiency, and improving the overall experience for stakeholders in the higher education sector. This service, applicable to diplomas issued by UAE-based HEIs, allows clients to verify the qualifications of institutions accredited by MoHESR through an approved QR code; this code confirms that the recognition has been officially validated in accordance with established regulations and procedures. The expansion is based on the success achieved since the launch of the service, and efforts to include more HEIs are ongoing. Among the HEIs benefiting from the initiative are the United Arab Emirates University, Zayed University, Higher Colleges of Technology, University of Sharjah, American University of Sharjah, Khalifa University, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Abu Dhabi University, Ajman University, Al Ain University, Wollongong University in Dubai, Liwa University, Canadian University Dubai, Gulf Medical University, Ajman City University, American University in Dubai, Al Qasimia University, Al Wasl University, Amity University Dubai, American University of Ras Al Khaimah, University of Dubai, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Rabdan Academy, Abu Dhabi School of Management, Jumeira University, Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation, Heriot-Watt University Dubai, American University of the Emirates, Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, Ras Al Khaimah University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Humanities, Fatima College of Health Sciences, British University in Dubai, Fujairah University, Dubai Medical University, Sharjah Academy of Education, Umm Al Qaiwain University, and Emirates Aviation University.
