Sharjah Culture will organize 25 festivals in the coming months.
SHARJAH, March 23, 2026 (WAM) -- The Sharjah Culture Department, under the directives of His Highness Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, will organize 25 festivals and cultural forums in the coming months as part of its annual program. The events will take place locally, across the Arab world, and in Africa, reinforcing Sharjah's cultural leadership and supporting creative expressions. The Department's Chairman, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, stated that the program reflects the vision of Sharjah's ruler to promote Arab culture, support creative talents, and strengthen Sharjah's role as a center for cultural exchange among writers and artists. He noted that the program attracts a wide audience and provides platforms for both established and emerging talents. The program will continue until the end of August. In March, the 35th Sharjah Theatre Days will be held, honoring the authors of the Department's 2025 publications. In April, the Sharjah Cultural Honoring Forum will continue in Egypt (25th edition) and Jordan (26th edition); additional events will include a poetry performance workshop at the Poetry House, the 5th Dibba Al-Hisn Cultural Festival, and the 29th Sharjah Arab Creativity Award ceremony at the Cultural Palace. In May, five events will be organized, including the 7th Tetouan Festival for Moroccan Poets, an exhibition from the Sharjah Calligraphy Arts Center, the 13th Sharjah School Theatre Festival, and the 9th Dibba Al-Hisn Dual Theatre Festival. In June, the Sharjah Cultural Honoring Forum will take place in Morocco (27th edition) and Mauritania (28th edition). Additionally, preparations are underway for the 5th African Arab Poetry Forums in several countries, including Chad, Guinea, Benin, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and South Sudan, in July and August. Furthermore, the 13th Theatre Practitioners Course will be held at the Kalba Cultural Center in August.
