On Monday, the United Arab Emirates was hit by heavy rain, accompanied by lightning strikes, thunder, and a significant drop in temperatures. This weather phenomenon was attributed to atmospheric instability and the movement of cloud formations from the west, which led to the development of cumulonimbus clouds in various regions at different intervals. Rainfall, ranging from light showers to heavy downpours, began in the early hours of the morning, affecting Abu Dhabi and its neighboring suburbs, Al Dhafra, Al Ain, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and many other areas. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) forecasted that intermittent rainfall of varying intensity would continue in many parts of the country until Friday. On Tuesday, rain is expected in the western, eastern, coastal, and island regions. The NCM indicated that the clouds would gradually move north and east, reaching the city of Al Ain by nightfall. Shortly after midnight, a new wave of clouds is anticipated to progress from the west towards Al Dhafra and Abu Dhabi. Rain is expected in various regions of the UAE on Wednesday; the showers observed during the day are projected to shift towards the eastern regions and the city of Al Ain during the night. The likelihood of rain is expected to decrease late at night. According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the probability of rain on Thursday morning is quite low. However, precipitation may return in the afternoon, particularly affecting the northern and eastern regions as well as the city of Al Ain. During the night, rainfall could spread to coastal areas, islands, and the western parts of the country. On Friday, the NCM predicts a decrease in the likelihood of rain during the day in the islands and coastal regions, but precipitation is expected to eventually spread across a large portion of the UAE. The lowest temperature recorded in the United Arab Emirates on Monday morning was measured at 12.4°C at Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 07:00.
