CDA is spreading the joy of the holiday by distributing over 25 million AED in Eid gifts to more than 11,000 beneficiaries.
DUBAI, March 18, 2026 (WAM) -- Enriching the Eid Al Fitr celebrations and within the framework of the 'Year of the Family', the Dubai Community Development Authority (CDA) has distributed 'Eidiya' to over 11,000 beneficiaries in registered categories through an initiative that embodies the values of social solidarity and compassion, which are integral to the Emirati community. The initiative provided support to families registered with the Authority receiving various financial aids, as well as other priority groups such as children and minors. Conducted in collaboration with the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, this initiative emphasizes the integration of roles among organizations related to social services, helping to maximize the social impact of initiatives aimed at supporting families. The total value of the distributed 'Eidiya' exceeded 25 million AED, reflecting the keen interest in initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for disadvantaged families and symbolizing the joy of Eid across various segments of society. This initiative emerges as an extension of CDA's efforts to enhance social cohesion through the implementation of initiatives related to religious and social events. It aligns with the goals of Dubai's Social Agenda 33, which aims to strengthen family ties and improve the quality of life across the emirate, contributing to the creation of a more cohesive and stable society. CDA Director General Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid stated that the Eidiya initiative reflects Dubai's commitment to enhancing the humanitarian aspect of social work, emphasizing the importance of this commitment during events that hold special significance for families and children. "Children represent the essence of the family and are one of the most important pillars of building a harmonious society. In this regard, we strive to present initiatives that enhance their sense of joy and belonging during religious and social events. Eid is a milestone where the values of communication and compassion are renewed, and the spirit of a harmonious Emirati society is manifested," she said. She also added, "Through this initiative, we aim to enable families and children to experience the Eid atmosphere with all its human and social meanings. This contributes to creating a supportive social environment that enhances family stability and harmony, supporting Dubai's efforts to build a more connected community." CDA explained that the initiative is part of a series of social initiatives implemented throughout the month of Ramadan aimed at promoting the spirit of social solidarity and strengthening a culture of positive engagement among community members.
