VIENNA, March 6, 2026 (WAM) -- Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker emphasized his country's full commitment to working closely with its partners in the Gulf and the Middle East and expressed determination to maintain regional stability. Stocker stated, "We support all diplomatic and political efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation and preventing the expansion of conflict." In a statement, Stocker added, "We are in full solidarity with all countries in the region that are subjected to the indiscriminate attacks of the Iranian regime," and insisted, "These attacks must cease immediately." Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger also underscored her country's resolve regarding de-escalation, stating, "Iran's unjust attacks on countries in the region must stop immediately." The Minister further emphasized the necessity of preventing a broader war at all costs.
