The 20th edition of Art Dubai, postponed due to regional conflicts, has been rescheduled from April to May following disruptions in flights and cargo. This year, the fair is set to take place in a more flexible and curatorially focused new format. Art Dubai announced via its Instagram accounts that the 20th anniversary edition, originally planned for April, will be held from May 14 to 17, 2026, at Madinat Jumeirah. The postponement was a result of halted flights and disruptions in cargo transportation due to conflicts in the region, prompting galleries to reassess their participation. This year's edition will feature a more focused and flexible format, differing from the traditional fair model. Galleries, artists, and institutions will come together through curatorial presentations, collaborations, and public programs. The physical event will continue to serve as a platform that brings together regional and international art networks. New Format and Sections The 20th edition will focus on Bawwaba, highlighting young artists and newly produced works. The Digital section will bring digital art practice into the mainstream, while Zamaniyyat will continue to explore non-Western examples of modernism. Bawwaba Extended will present large-scale installations in public spaces, offering visitors a unique experience. Participants will also benefit from financial flexibility. Galleries will not be required to pay upfront booth fees; instead, a certain percentage will be taken from sales, which will not exceed the normal booth fee. Galleries unable to travel will be able to present their works through local teams, and those not participating can defer their payments to the 2027 edition.
