A drone incident near Dubai resulted in a fire in a fuel tank, leading to the closure of four roads to traffic.
Dubai Police announced the temporary closure of Airport Road and the Airport Tunnel, advising drivers to use alternative routes. Following an incident on Monday morning near Dubai International Airport involving a drone that caused a fire in a fuel tank, authorities temporarily closed several roads.
To ensure safety and reduce traffic congestion, local residents were advised to utilize alternative routes.
Traffic has resumed on most roads; however, Airport Road remains closed for vehicles coming from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road towards the intersection of Al Khawaneej and Marrakech Streets. Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
Dubai officials have contained a fire resulting from a drone attack near the city’s international airport. Flights were temporarily halted, but no injuries were reported.
The incident on Monday marked the third occurrence at Dubai airport, one of the world's busiest international travel hubs, since Iran began its attacks on Gulf countries on February 28. Tehran stated that the attacks targeted U.S. assets in the region.
The ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Israel against Iran has disrupted global aviation, leading to flight cancellations, rescheduling, and route changes due to fears of missile and drone attacks, resulting in a significant portion of Middle Eastern airspace remaining closed.
